This year the Feeder Canal Alliance Canoe/Kayak race will be a virtual one, as there is work being done on the Canal through the summer. Our Race Roster registration page is live, so you can sign up to do a 5k or 5 mile race - to be completed between June 10 - June 17, 2023 by clicking the button below. Participation is free, but we encourage you to make a donation to help us maintain and enhance the Feeder Canal.
Join us for a free, family-friendly event on June 10th at Haviland Cove Park, from 11 AM - 2 PM! A fun, relaxing way to find out the latest news about the Feeder Canal Alliance and our plans to improve areas of the Towpath Trail and the Canal, future education programs and our 35th Anniversary party on October 27th. This free event will include kids rock painting, “building” a canal boat, free lemonade and more!
Each April the NYS Canal Corporation, in partnership with Parks & Trails New York and the Environmental Facilities Corporation promotes Clean Sweep, an annual statewide effort to clean up along canals in the early spring. This year we'd also like to host a Fall Clean Up of the Feeder Canal & Towpath Trail at Murray Park in Hudson Falls - and other locations if we can get enough volunteers. Stay tuned - we will post more details in the summer about the exact Fall clean up date.

We celebrated Arbor Day on April 29, 2023 with a free guided walk along the Feeder Canal, at Overlook Park at the Feeder Dam. A small group learned how to identify local trees by their buds, branch structure and bark, and about the Emerald Ash Borer and what to do about it! The 1.5 hour guided walk was conducted by Jeff Speich, a certified ISA Arborist, and a good time was had by all attendees!
